Surgery at St. Luke’s Clinic
The operating block includes two operating rooms, equipped according to world standards and furnished with equipment and instruments from leading medical brands – STORZ (Germany), Olympus (Japan), Siemens.
A modern cleanroom ventilation system ensures air sterilization in the operating rooms, which significantly reduces the risk of postoperative infectious complications.
We use gentle, minimally invasive methods (laparoscopy, endoscopy), which ensure a low risk of complications, rapid recovery and rehabilitation.
When is a surgeon’s consultation needed
- When surgical intervention is necessary for the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system. These include hernias of any location, diseases of the liver and gallbladder, and all parts of the intestine.
- Acute conditions: suspected appendicitis, cholecystitis.
- Acute inflammatory processes of soft tissues, including the skin. These include acute purulent processes on the skin, ingrown nails, panaritium, hidradenitis, and others.
- Appearance of neoplasms. Surgeons remove benign neoplasms.
- Surgical treatment of vascular pathologies. Varicose veins and their complications phlebitis and thrombophlebitis. Rosacea.
- Surgical treatment of proctological problems: hemorrhoids, anal fissure, epithelial coccygeal passage, rectal polyps, and pararectal fistulas.
Diagnostics
Instrumental diagnostic methods:
- Ultrasound — examination of internal organs using ultrasound. The clinic uses expert-level ultrasound machines.
- Computed tomography (CT)
- EGDS (esophagogastroduodenoscopy) — examination of the upper gastrointestinal tract using a probe and optical system. This is the “gold standard” for diagnosing diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
- Colonoscopy — endoscopic examination of the condition of the large intestine. The procedure is performed under anesthesia.
- Biopsy — minor surgical intervention under anesthesia, taking a piece of tissue or organ, necessary for histological examination.
Treatment
- Surgical treatment at St. Luke’s Clinic is carried out in two operating rooms, which are equipped for surgical interventions of any complexity and designed according to world standards.
- Among the directions of treatment for surgical diseases are: general surgery, gastroenterology, gynecology, urology, proctology, ENT surgery, vascular surgery, and others.
- The surgeons of our clinic provide both emergency and planned care, prepare for operations and provide postoperative observation.
- For the treatment of surgical pathologies of various organs and their systems, the following are used: traditional surgical interventions, including those under X-ray and ultrasound control; minimally invasive surgical operations with rapid postoperative recovery (laparoscopy, endoscopy); laser.
- Before any manipulations, thorough surgical treatment of the operating field is carried out, taking into account the rules of asepsis and antisepsis. For sterilization of surgical instruments, we use a robotic block of the central sterilization department, which has no analogues in Ukraine. The error of the human factor is excluded.
- We perform all types of anesthesia, including general anesthesia, medical sleep, epidural and spinal anesthesia.
