Endoscopic examination
of the stomach and intestines

Endoscopic examination

 – the most informative method for diagnosing diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Our top-category endoscopist, Ph.D. Ivan Ivanovych Dutka performs:

  • fibrogastroduodenoscopy

  • colonoscopy

with all types of anesthesia, which makes the examination more informative and allows patients to undergo the procedure with maximum comfort.

At St. Luke’s Clinic, we use the most modern expert-class endoscopic equipment from Fujinon, which includes:

  • 60x image magnification
  • narrow-band imaging (NBI) mode

for detecting and differentiating neoplastic processes in the early stages

During the examination, it is possible to:

  • perform pH-metry
  • take a mucosal sample for histological analysis
  • determine the presence of H. Pylori bacteria in a person.

Preparation for examination

Main stages of examination:

Filling out a questionnaire with standard questions (full name, age, presence or absence of allergies, chronic diseases, etc.).

If the procedure is performed with anesthesia – an intravenous catheter is inserted.

Duration of examination

The examination time depends on the diagnostic tasks set. For a stomach examination without anesthesia, the procedure will take up to 10 minutes. Colonoscopy under medical sleep takes up to 20 minutes. Colonoscopy and gastroscopy under medical sleep last up to 30 minutes. We find an individual approach for each patient, however, when additional examination is required, the examination time may increase. Patients with urgent conditions (life-threatening) are examined first.

When you will receive the conclusion

You will receive the doctor’s conclusion immediately after the examination.
