What is diagnostic hysteroscopy?
This is an examination of the uterine cavity from the inside using an ultra-thin optical instrument — a hysteroscope. The image is displayed on a monitor with high magnification. The doctor sees the smallest deviations from the norm: polyps, inflammation, nodes, or suspicious areas of the mucous membrane.
Why is targeted biopsy important?
Unlike conventional curettage (“cleaning”), which is performed blindly, during hysteroscopy, the doctor takes a piece of tissue specifically from the suspicious area. This ensures maximum accuracy of the histological analysis.
When is this examination prescribed?
