Heart and vascular diseases have been the leading cause of mortality in Ukraine for many years. When to schedule a consultation with a cardiologist
- pain or discomfort behind the sternum or in the left chest, which may radiate to the back, lower jaw, left arm;
- difficulty breathing with minor physical exertion or at rest, worsening in a horizontal position, may be accompanied by a dry cough that is resistant to treatment with conventional antitussive and expectorant drugs;
- dizziness, periodic fainting spells;
- headache, tinnitus, flickering “flies” before the eyes, nausea, vomiting in combination with increased blood pressure (more than 140/90 mmHg) or increased pressure without any clinical manifestations;
- feeling of interruptions in heart function, palpitations, regular increase in pulse over 90 beats per minute at rest;
- swelling in the legs, arms, face, blueness of fingertips, nose, ears.
Many diseases of the cardiovascular system (CVS) are asymptomatic in the early stages. For timely diagnosis and treatment of such pathology, cardiologists recommend annual medical examinations for people aged 40 and over.
A cardiologist consultation is necessary for patients with endocrine pathology, for example, with thyroid problems, because diseases of these organs often involve damage to the CVS.
What does a cardiologist treat?

What diagnostic methods do we use?
Our clinic’s specialists use a full range of diagnostic studies to identify cardiovascular pathology of any complexity:
ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHY (ECG) – a method for studying the electrical activity of the heart, which allows assessing the heart rate, myocardial condition, and other important parameters.
HEART ULTRASOUND (ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY) – a non-invasive examination method using high-frequency sound waves, which helps determine the structure and functional state of heart valves, the thickness and contractility of the myocardium, the nature of blood flow in the heart chambers, and the diameter of large vessels.
HEART ULTRASOUND (ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY) WITH DOBUTAMINE – the safest and most accurate method for diagnosing ischemia, assessing viability, and coronary reserve of the myocardium.
HOLTER ECG MONITORING – a special device records ECG for a day or more.
If necessary, all laboratory, radiological, endoscopic, and other methods of patient examination are used.
